Parkinson's Disease
Progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting movement and cognition. MSC therapy provides neuroprotection and modulates dopaminergic pathways.
Parkinson's disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder worldwide, affecting over 10 million people. It is characterized by the progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, leading to the hallmark motor symptoms of tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia, and postural instability.
Beyond motor symptoms, Parkinson's involves autonomic dysfunction, sleep disorders, cognitive changes, and depression — reflecting widespread neuroinflammation and alpha-synuclein pathology across multiple brain regions. Current pharmacological therapies replace dopamine but do not slow the underlying neurodegeneration.
Regen Cord's MSC protocol is designed to address the neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative processes that standard therapy cannot reach, offering patients a biologically active complement to their existing treatment plan.
MSCs have demonstrated neuroprotective effects in multiple Parkinson's disease models. Administered intravenously, MSCs migrate to areas of neuroinflammation and suppress the microglial activation that accelerates dopaminergic neuron death. Published preclinical data show preservation of tyrosine hydroxylase-positive neurons and improved motor performance in treated animals.
MSC-secreted trophic factors — particularly GDNF and BDNF — directly support the survival of remaining dopaminergic neurons and may partially restore synaptic connectivity in affected circuits. Some clinical case series have reported improvements in UPDRS motor scores and reduced medication burden following MSC treatment.
True Regen coordinates evaluation of each Parkinson's patient — including neurological assessment, disease staging, and medication review — before designing the treatment plan in collaboration with Regen Cord's clinical team.
- Slowed progression of motor symptoms
- Improvement in UPDRS motor assessment scores
- Reduced neuroinflammation markers
- Improved sleep quality and autonomic function
- Potential reduction in levodopa dosing requirements
Individual results vary. All patients undergo full medical evaluation prior to treatment.
